Basic altar setup

Basic altar setup. This is the setup I use, while travelling to remote places.

You will get this items in supermarkets/convenience stores or shops dealing with candles and occult items.
1. Diya lamp (made of mud)
2. Gingelly oil (sesame oil) – easily available
3. lighter (or match box will do)
4. wicks (white thread)
5. tiles or wooden platform (optional)

Note: You can also purchase a mud pot and diya as shown in picture above, than a marble/granite or any other base. Mud pot takes care of oil spill. Dry the base tip of oil wicks before igniting it.

House rules:
Have a bath.
Avoid eating non veg/alcohol. Spirits don’t like that. You are requesting their energies and vibes.
Avoid bad thoughts/ hurting others in word, thought or deed.
Find a room, free from all distractions. You can either tell them, I am doing exercises under guidance of astrologer /or yoga/or doing meditation/ or spiritual practise whatever.  Close all doors and windows (optional)

Some people are just curious and they may ask many questions. Just say, you are doing this to improve my position in astrology or horoscope.

If you live in hostel or with shared roommates, it is better you do this, when they are not in the room.  You may have those timings.

You can run this video or audio in the background, so that others cannot hear what you are saying.  I personally use this at night, when others are sleeping. (switch off the fan, otherwise lamp may go off, if in a room)

For some exercises, you should orally say the words and your body throat and stomach should feel the vibrations of words.

Note: Beware of clothes, curtains, anything that catch fire like wood. Some countries have fire alarms, and they may give a false alarm. In that case, better try this in terrace, balcony or outdoors.
